When you select MD WebDesign's Standard Search Engine Submission option your site will be submitted to a variety of different search engines. Included in these are catalogue search engines such as DMOZ and Yahoo* as well as "crawler" based search engines such as Alta Vista, Google, MSN, and Hotbot. For those of you wondering, "crawler" search engines use programs often referred to as "robots" or "crawlers" to search and index your site for inclusion and placement purposes. MD WebDesign only uses techinques proven effective in successful search engine submission. We do not use submission softwares or sites that often promise submission to hundreds or even thousands of search engines. In fact, some of the top search engines will actually deny inclusion of sites submitted in this manner. In reality, there are only a handful of search engines worth being submitted to and indexed in anyway. Most people have never even heard of the remaining search engines let alone ever visited one of them.
*Yahoo is a catalogue search engine that relies on human editors to evaluate all sites submitted for consideration in their index. To submit a site to Yahoo, you must first select the appropriate category for your site in the Yahoo directory. If the category selected is considered by Yahoo to be commercial, you must pay a $299.00 recurring anual fee in order to be considered. You can find out more by visiting the following link, Yahoo Express. By paying this fee you will be automatically submitted to Yahoo for consideration. If your site is non-commercial, MD WebDesign will submit your site to Yahoo for consideration. |
